Johnson, the second officer of the detachment, and who has secure~ lo himself the meed of praise, and the gratitude of his · fellow citizens, together with the brave heroes of his command. Two other brave men fell and about twenty-five men wounded. Citizen-Commissioners: with the foregoing intelligence, you will enter upon the du Lies of your mission with increased ardor, and brightened hopes of full success; and while we congratulate you as being the beares of such joyful news, we renew lo you our farewell blessing, and desire for your continued health, and the prosperous success of the objects of your present enterprize.

The undersigned being appointed Lo write dispatches to our agents beg leave to communicate the very hapy Intelligence of the fall of Bexar. Majr Gay and other Gent. entitled to credit have just arrived and bring the pleasing and very happy Intelligence of. the Capture of Bexar Ugartahea reached Bexar, a day or two before the capitulation and surrendered with the reinforcement he brought with him the number not known the terms of surrender are that the officers and troops are lo depart (without arms, or any other Public properly) on parole of Honour, the troops behaved well the N. 0 . Greys are perticularly spoken of but we are sorry to be under the necessity of communicating the sad intelligence of the Joss of the Brave Milam he was killed by a Ball in the head on the second day of the action This account though not official the council has thought it unquestionable and request , that you will continue your unremilled exertions to raise troops for the term of 3 Months as
