To the Provisional Council of Texas The Undersigned respectfully sheweth
Thal being engaged in commerce in company with his brother who is now in the interior with a quantity of Dry Goods Immediately on the commensement of hostilities in the earley part of October I sent him an Express, that the colonists had taken up arms in their own defence. I wrote again but the last letter was intercepted al Lepanliclan and on my reaching the place I was informed that the Commandant (Roderiguez) had sent men to the Rio Grand lo have the person and properly of my brother slopt and embargoed wharever he could be found the person that I sent on the express on his return lo Camargo a town on the Rio Grand was informed by my friends that the alcaJdie had an order to that effect. This measure was advised (as I have been informed) by Don Cipriano Ramirez Gpl Sabriago and Don Juan Lentano the latter was the collector of Goliad. Now the object of the petitioner is that all the properly of Don Juan Lentano Cipriano Ramirez & Cpt Sabriago be held responsible for any damages that may occur lo the person and property of the undersigned and his brother. The property of the aforesaid individuaJs consists of a quantity of Groceries Hardware Crockery & Some Dry Goods that was found in Goliad on its being taken possession of by the colonists. The undersigned refrains from making any further comenls, trusting the matter lo the justness of and correctness and wisdom of the Council of Texas.
