Dear Genl.
This will be handed by a Company of Six Men whose object is to join the service. The funds here were not sufficient to furnish them arms &c. and they have furnished themselves and appear anxious to join your command. Other troops are in their way which will soon augment your force to an Elegant Command. Further in my next

To Col. A. Huston, Qr. Master Gen! of the army
Sir You will proceed to New Orleans and elsewhere if necessary and procure if possible Such articles as are enumerated in the accompanying list for the Army of Texas. Should it not be in your power lo obtain them all, Any portion of them which you can get must be purchased, and you will advise the Agents which I have designated of your success that they may use their efforts lo secure the articles and forward the same to Matagorda (unless otherwise advised) with the greatest possible despatch.
