I avail myself of the departure of Mr. Greene for your vicinity to address you a few lines- I have indeed, nothing of any interest to communicate-The Ma--s expedition will I apprehend be postponed- The army have been a good deal divided on the subject- we are moving on in an easy trot, without much variety of incident lo diversify the events of the day. The fu lure absorbs all our cares, and ii1 that future I contemplate with pleasure your active and efficient participation. Genl. Houston is beyond all question the President elect, he has beat my worthy friend, Austin, the pioneer of pioneers in Texas, as much as the garnish splendor of Military fame (no matter how acquired) excels the mild lusture of meditative and intellectual worth- I shall look for you in all the month of November-let me hear from you,
