Maj. R. Loyd Sir
You are hereby authorized to proceed to the U. Stales and raise a company of one hundred and twelve men as recruits for the Army of Texas, to serve either for the period of two years or during the war as you may be able to engage them. You will draw up articles of agreement with each individual and specify therein the time for which he agrees to serve. They will thus by fulfilling their agreement become entitled (in addition to the regular pay of Soldiers of the Army) to a farther renumeration of One third of a league of land. . You will execute your commission with all possible dispatch, and report yourself and men at Head Quarters, when you will he received as a volunteer and for the service rendered be entitled to the corresponding advantages.
