which they individually promise lo pay various sums al the Bank of Orleans on the lsl of March, 1842, with interest annually, and the whol~ secured by the "present and future real estate" of each obligor. The Executive, with the consent of his cabinet, has accepted the orfer, and will issue scrip, pledging the faith and credit of the Government for the repayment of the money; so that the citizens and their property are first bound to the State, and then the republic bound to those who may advance the money. The general election for President, Vice President, and members of Congress, took place last Monday, and it is supposed that General Samuel Houston is elected by a very large majority to the first office, and Mirabeau B. You have now the Durango & Urchin, The Laura (Steam boat) will follow in five days as well as the Ohio, Kosinsko, and Col. Fannin. Write me your plans and when you propose undertaking the expedition.
