I w~s pleased by the attention of a few lines from you in Antonys letter. . We have no great news a pressing letter was written by Gen Houston to Gen Gaines yesterday regarding the danger we were in from Indians and I think he wiU be over. 200 men are ordered here from various places in the \icinity to aid U. S. Troops in case of necessity. I enclose his circular which you can show Gen! Rusk with my compliments. I think it a false alarm, but do not quote me, except to Genl. Rusk.
