500 bags musket balls 500 do large back shot 20,000 do cannister shot 50,000 do percushion caps 10,000 musket flints 5,000 rifle do 100 -------fires 500 rockets 500 yards flannel for cartridges 20 casks good port wine for hospital 20 baggage waggons The pork & bread is absolutely necessary for immediate use-also selected medicines for an army not less than two thousand, perhaps more. There are sundry other articles of which Lieut Colo. Thos. W. Ward has bills of making the requisition for the army supplies for the campaign independant of clothing shoes & caps (which I also beg you to order) amounting to about fifty thousand dollars. There ought to be sent to the army two thousand cotton .shirts, pantaloons, roundabouts, shoes & caps which will cost S15,000 more-and without which the army cannot be kept together for many of the men are already naked and will be more so in _thirty days time. Do write me the prospect of procuring these articles as I have been acting all the time in the dark as to what might be expected.
