Question 11th What is the number of Regulars in service. Question 12th What the number of volunteers from the U.S. Question 13th What the number of Texians Question 14th What is the number of Texians not yet engaged but who are ready for any emergency. In answer to the four preceeding questions I would say that Texas can bring 5.000 men (citizens) into the field on any emergency Question 15. Have you sufficient supplies for the present army for 6 months. Answer. A large portion of the supplies wanted are in the country, & at the command of the Government, at any time. Question 16th Is the army satisfied as to pay & supplies and are they paid punctually or do they rely upon the means of the Government to pay when the war is over. Answer. The army are satisfied as to supplies and calculate on being paid so soon as the Government has the means: arrangements are now being made to raise funds sufficient to meet all demands against the Republic · I have the honor to be Your obt Sevt
