In relation to ourselves, we can say wilh a clear conscience that we have no cause lo regret the course we look al the disbanding on lhe Island. But on the conlrary we have been kind and courleously lrealed by all with whom we have had inlercourse. Immediately on our arrival al lhe army, we had every assurance lhal the promises made by Colonel Louis should be performed, and of the determination of the Government lo act in good faith towards the volunleers. Accordingly our reporl was received, and we, as well as lhose we have the honor to command, are acknowledged to have been in lhe service of Texas since lhe time we left Lexinglon. The ulmost harmony and good feeling prevail throughout the corps, and it promises to assume a high and respectable standing among the troops now in service. The flag, that cause of such thrilling, absorbing interest at the time of its presentation, is still among us, though but few of the 'Ladies Legion' remain to aid in its transplantations from the fertile plains of Texas to the walls of Matamoras; where we have no doubt il will proudly wave, early in the opening campaign. You may assure your young friends, that it is in the hands of thore whose hearts are stout-whose arms are strong in the clefence of those principles what prompted them to unfurl the banner under which we march. With feelings of the highest respect, We subscribe ourselves.
