Sir. I feel it to be my duly to reporl lo you the conduct of officers and men of Capl Joseph Rogers company who report themselves from lndianna and Kentucky and now on lhe way to join the army- They passed my house yesterday morning and encamped on lhe weslern bank of the Lebacco where lhey have remained for more than twenty four hours, and this morning have returned and with force and arms have entered my house and plundered me of a portion of the scanty supplies which, had been furnished me the government- I shall be under the necessity of leaving this place, as I cannot remain in security. The undersigned gentlemen were present and will bear witness lo the truth of the above slalement

I was unfortunately in the House of Mr Hatch at the time these rude men entered it, They treated Capt Hatch very uncivily. I tryed to quiet them in their rude conduct, but it only had effect for the Lime being. These thinks ought not to be allowed- I make this nole that lhey may not disarm you, and misrepsent Capt Hatchs conduct From Your Friend A J Allen I was a.Isa present and Lestify Lo the Improper conduct as represented
