Gaines intends having a large force on our Frontier & the Q i\laster here has received Bills Lading of large shipments, al Philadelphia lo send to Natchitoches, say 5,000 Knapsacks, Cartridge Boxes, Rifles and Muskets & every thing necessary to equip that number of men-& should the Indians make an attempt, to join the Mexicans he will no doub't put a stop to it- Galveston should be well fortified & we shall do our best to forward the Guns mentioned in ours this morning say 4, L8s & 4 24s-with necessary shot &c-These are all that can be had here- We are informed the Flash is returning with about 100 Volunteers.
