Cincinnaty after a printing establishment if you get the first number from the new press it will explain to you our dificulty & trouble in procureing an other.... Thos 1-1 Borden [3925) [BURNET to GRAYSON and COLLINSWORTH]
Executive Department Velasco 9th Augst 1836.
To the honble P. W. Grayson and James Collinsworth Commrs etc. Gentn
I transmit to you a decree of Blockade of the Port of
Matamoros etc
An actual force is ordered to that Station competent to
effectuate the Blockade in fact.
We have no late intelligence from the Enemy that can be relied upon. From present appearances, I do not apprehend a speedy visit from them. Many of the Settlers have returned from the Army to their homes, but they are always ready to take the field in defense of the Country, and their just rights. Yours in haste
David G. Burnet
[3926] [BURNET to TOBY J
Executive Department Velasco 9th August 1836.
To Thomas Toby Esqr Texas Agent New Orleans Sir
The Sehr Invincible of our Navy requires important and extensive repairs, and Capt Brown with his Officers are of opinion that it will save a considerable amount of money without costing much extra lime, lo go lo New York, instead of New-Orleans, for the purpose of making the repairs.
