I have arranged with Captain F. Hardin to return with his Company lo the East to take charge of the prisoners in the room of Captain Turner Captain I-lardins Company has volunteered for Five months I will thank you to order round by the first opportunity Captain Turner & his company of Regulars Captain Hardins Company reside in that neighborhood and it will be a matter of accommodation to them as well as an advantage to the Army. Major Lysander Wells Dear Sir
In separating from you after the many fatigues, and arduous duties of the Campaigns, in which we have served together, for the Liberties, and Independence of Texas, I cannot permit this occasion to pass by, without expressing to you my entire approbation of your conduct during the whole Campaign, and particularly your Brave and Chivalrous conduct in the Battle of San Jacinto. I was witness to most of your conduct, during the engagement of the twenty first, and cam testify lo your acting your part well, in being in front where the enemy first gave way, and continuing so, during the pursuit, until dark stopped the scenes of blood.
