To Col. N. Robbins Sir,
You are hereby authorised to raise a Company of fifty nine men lo act as Rangers between the Navisota and Sabine. The Officers (one Captain and two Lieutenants) will be elected out of that number. It \\~ll be required of them to use the strictest vigilence and caution in the performance of their duty. When the Corps is completely organised they will report to the Commander in Chief for further orders. ·

You will transmit to me as soon as possible a list of all the stores you have forwarded to the main army since the 1 July last, in order that I may give a full statement to the Commander in Chief, you will also report to me the prospect of your progress in furnishing the Plank, nails &c for boats, also give me a statement of the supplies on hand at your post, all of which is necessary for the use of the Comclg. General.-
