My much esteemed Friend [ have been apprised th.it Genl. Filnsola has been separated from lhe army and thal the command of il has been given Lo you by the government lo continue the expedition in this country: and as in my opinion the war musl al once cease between lhe Mexicans and Texians because il is better that the present questioll should be terminated by mc,111s of political transactions l think that you ought not to continue your march, and that you ought lo stop at the most convenient place, because then I have not the least doubt that as soon as you will officially communicate Lo the Commander in Chief of this army, Urnt as soon as ,rny person will be in absolute liberty lo join you, you will return with Lhe army lo the other side of the Rio Bravo clel Norte, without eommilling on your part any act of hostility. 1 shall cffc<:Luatc my departure lo join you wherever you may be in order lo co1rlinue lo the capital of the Republic.
