Dear Sir
You will take charge of the Stores in & at the post of Galveston & take care that the means is provided to supply Lhe main army at all times, you must be strict in the discharge of your duty & let no supplies pass from your hands only ott requisition or order ot' the proper officer, it is said there has heen preculalion carried on here & it will be your duty to watch & guard against il. It is the object of the Govt lo have the troops will supplied, but not to have the stores squandered or embezzled you will therefore take great caution in this matter You will be punctual in makeing your reports to me and will keep me well apprized of the stale of the supplies under your charge. Assl Qr Mr l\'laxwell will be imme- diately under your command. I have ordered him lo Harrisburg, you wiU give him such directions from time to time as the circum- stances may require

You will forward on board the St Bt. Yellow Slone all the arms you have on board the "Pocket" also LOO Kegs powder & 2 Brls Cannister Powder to the Port of Velasco to the Qr Mr or the Public Store Keeper at that place
