Galveston Bay June 29, 1836

To A Somerville Secy of War Dear Sir

The news just Teceived from the President induces me to think that the forces will be ordered to the main army, consequently the Indian expedition must be abandoned. 1f that should be the case there will not be a large quantity of supplies wanted on that route by the way of Harrisburg. I wish you to advise me on that subject My express has not yet returned that l sent to Harrisburg for the Boat. 1 fear some disaster has happened to it. I expected an answer to my last sent to you by Capt Smith, he says he lost part of his letters. From the news just received I shnll stay most of the supplies for the Indian campayne until I hear from you I have the honor to be Sir Yr. Ob. St. &c A Huston Qr Mr Genl P.S. There has a fi,1e company of Volunleers just arrived commanded by Capt. Allen, the compy & officers is one that will do honor lo our cause. The Capt. will be al the seat of Govt on the ''Ocean."
