Two commissioners from Lhe Texian Army Captains Henry Teal and Gaines were sent some lime shicc to the .Mexican Anny by creation of a stipulation in an armistic entered into between the Government of Texas and Gent Santa Ana and ratified and confirmed by His Excellency Genf?ral Vicente Filisola known al the time to us and the world as the first in Command of the Mexican Army. These men heen detained in violation of the laws of nations in violation of the articles of Lhe Armistice and in direct and flagrant violation of every principle of Morality and civilized or even Savage War. These men I demand lo be released immediately we have ample materials in our hands lo retaliate and the situation of these men so contrary lo all tlie honorable principles which should govern men and nations would justify us in putting to the Sword every man of the Mexican army in our possession.
