I wrote you some time since via Rio Nueces or St. Patricia the Bearer of the same returned with receipt for Lhe letters signed by Edwd Scrugham. I Lmst you hav~ received the same ere this. Immediately after the letters were dispatched, the afairs and destination of the movements of the Mexican army were changed, ~~rea dispatched the troops at that time to Filisola & Andrade to 30m them and return immediately to Texas to commence the attack or war over again; on their arrival at the Camp of Filisola 10 leagues from Matamoros the officers and troops of the latter refused to go back and would not obey the order of Urrea in consequence of which all the army returned to Matamoros where they still remain. Filisola lefl his men and returned to Mexico via Monterey and never entered Matamoros, all the other Genl are here except Ramitas Sesma who also departed for the City of Mexico, Capn Carns & Teal can give you all the information required and trust you will look wel.l to it, and no longer snfcr yourselves to be guled by these people and an lgnoranl Cabinel; all the army wants is money to commence again and will perhaps be down on you again before you are aware of it, when a suitable time offers come on here and lay our City in Ashes spare none. Place your cannon al my door and I will clap Lhe match for a bcgining. 1 refer you particular lo_ Genl Urrea's letter of this dale in the Mercurio and ask yoursclv<'.s 1f you
