Dear Sir,
I have been informed that you were the agent for Texas. I have been in your place a number of times but have not had the pleasure of an acquaintance with you. But as an agent of the Govt I lake the liberty to address you on the subject of army supplies. Our supplies are getting scarce & as there is a probability of a renewed Campaign against us I hope you will lose no time in forwarding us a quantity of supplies. 1 would recommend their being sent to Galveston to prevent their falling into the hands of the Enemy they can be sent from there al any time West, when they may be wanted without being exposed to the enemy. We have just received alarming news from the west which we are now copying to sen~ to your place directed to Esq. Christie Yours Respectfully &c A Huston Qr Mr Gen( To T. Toby Esq. New Orleans
