Jf you cannot send any men to act as rangers be so good as to send some Carts lo take those unfortunate familys to Warloop many of those familys are left without their Husbands having fallen in the Texas cause the Tory party have left this place with the Mexicans. Escmo. Sr.-En cumplimienlo de la orden de S. E. el presidente interino, comunicada por V. E. con fecha 31 del procsimo pasado Mayo, he daado reconocer para el mando de este ejercito, al Sr. general de brigada D. Jose Urrea, quedando hecho cargo de el inlerinamente, su segundo el de la misma clase el Sr. D. Juan Jose Andrade; y yo elijo para punto de mi residencia, el de la ciudad de Leona Vicario, en donde estare pendiente de las ordenes que S. E. el Sr. prcsidente interino tenga a bien darme; pero suplico a V. E. se sirva tener la dignacion de manifestarle, que ni aquel punto, ni ninguno de los otros que se me designan, pueden serme convenientes, separado de mi familia, pues solo el servicio de la nacion pudo haberme determinado a verificarlo antes; y que en tat virtud, le suplico encarecidamenle tenga a hien concederme mi rctiro a cuartel para esa capital,, en lo que creo ejercera un acto de rigorosa justicia. .
