My Dear Genl.

I have purchased the press of Mr Jones on which the 'People' is now printed- In payment I have given him several notes of hand on different individuals & merchants amounting in all to nine hundred Dollars. Mr. Jones has given us an order on you - and likewise on Mess Leger & Thompson for the delivery of the press on the first of august - I hope there will be no difficulty about the matter ~ Mr. Jones assures me there will be none - I enclose our obligation for the 400$ you so kindly loaned me - Do me the favor to write by first oppor- tunuity To Gen Lamar Always.
