Mr. Burnum has Counted the men subject to military duty and finds there is about thirty able to Bear arms, and, we expect more dayly and I believe there are as many in the lower detachment; The people in the upper detachmt are all well pleased with the division that you have made. I wrote you by Carrete that they wanted a division but I Expect you had not Received it before you sent on the order for an Election- . the people of the upper detachment Requests me to give you thier thanks J.
