Austins Colony This day personaly appeared before me Stephen F. Austin Judge ~n and for the Colony aforesaid Isaac Foster who being duly sworn lcposeth and Saith that sometime during the last Fall ,villiam ~ooper a citisen of this Colony handed deponent a piece of money as a Gold piece considered to be a half doubloon with a request that depont would hand it to John Foster that sd John Foster might with it nnd other money delivered at same time purchase for Cooper a ·steel Mill in New Orleans-deponent says he accordingly de- livered said piece of money to said John Foster with such instruc- tions and says that sd piece of money was never out of depts posses- sion from the time of so receiving it from Cooper untill he deliv- ered it to said Jn° Foster as afd- I.
