Be it Known. That in consideration of the Sum of twelve hundred dol- lars to me in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I have this day sold to Stephen F. Austin a certain Negro Man named Simon, of a dark complexion aged about twenty seven years I warrant the health as well the title to said Negro against the claim or claims of any person whatever, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the Town of Columbia this 25 th November 1836.
